The 90XT/95XT Skid Steers use two, spring applied, hydraulic release type brakes. The brakes are mounted to the chain tanks on the chassis, in front of the left and right hydraulic drive motors. The brakes are activated by depressing the brake switch (push button) on the left hand control lever. We have a Case 445CT the is having, (sadly) intermittent problems. Occasionally the safety interlock system which controls the hydraulic brakes and hydraulic flow disengages. The seat belt light will be lit and but we are unable to clear the fault by pressing clear button. At some point in a prior life, mine had a parking brake apply causing the area where the parking pin goes through the chain case to crack and bend. It was rewelded but I'll need to touch it up and install a proper pin. I borrow a deere skid steer that does that occassionally. A fuse works it's way loose in the fuse panel. Just takes a momentary power interruption and it sets the brake. Really gives you a ride when it locks up while moving full throttle. We have an 1845c skidsteer with a broken brake cable. The end that pulls the brake pin is at once simple and hard to take apart. You just need to pull the two prong pin and pull out the brake pin to change cable but the brake spring pushing out against the two prong pin seems very strong which makes it very hard if not impossible to pull and .
