Just bought a used 299d XHP with 1900 hrs. has code for LH speed sensor #1, . I'd start with disconnecting a speed sensor at the speed sensor, key on, stick your multimeter into the supply & return (should get something close to 8v) and wiggle the wires. Look for changes in voltage.

I am going to try replacing the Engine Speed Sensor #2 and preforming the attached UENR3423-23 Speed Timing Test to troubleshoot first. If anyone has any other ideas I am curious to hear them before I take it back to the Dealer.
