It was used only 50 hours in the last 20 years. It seemed to start and run fine when I looked at it.

Loosen off the injection lines, at the injectors and crank over the engine. When fuel comes out of them the air is bled out. Tighten the lines and it should run. The fuel shut off solenoid wire breaks off sometimes too, so check that, if no fuel comes out.

It will rev up hard at the start but very soon it will only run about 1/4 throttle at full throttle.

Run the engine up to normal operating temp then clamp off the fuel line between the hand primer and the filters, then shut down the engine. The following day (with the fuel line still clamped) try starting the engine.

Check the fuel shut solenoid is working, if it's not, it will not allow fuel to get to the injector pump. Start by hooking up a jug of fresh fuel straight to the lift pump. Prime it and ensure you are getting fuel to the injector pump (lift pumps do go bad).
