It ran 9 years ago but got backed into a fence and destroyed the radiator.

As the title says I just purchased a good used Owatonna Mustang 440 from a client. I havent dated it yet but I did find the data tag on the right rear boom. I thought I might be able to use this little unit around the neighborhood, especially if we get snowed in. I had the same problem on my 440 mustang. I pulled my hydraulic motor apart, and there was an alignment plate with cogs on the end. All of the cogs were worn and when you tried to turn with that motor, the cogs would skip and make noise.
OMC (Owatonna Manufacturing Co.) built skid-loaders for a number of years for john Deere. If your 440 has 2 steering levers (left & right) then it is clutch controlled with variable speed belt driven, exactly the same as a JD24.
