I have a gehl stid steer that the hydraulics keeps over heating with minimal work time. i've changed the filter and hyd. oil as suggested by a friend to do first but the problem persists. Any suggestions on what might be the problem or what to check first? Would appreciate any help of suggestions.
When my skid steer gets down about 5 gallons it starts spitting and skipping and eventually will stall. It draws fuel off the bottom so i don't understand why at 5 gallons it start doing this. Fill tank back up and it works fine. Very confused. Mike
If my memory serves me correctly, Gehl is a Takeuchi, so this is what I have done. If you have another machine, hook up a chain/strap some how to the back end of the cab (I call back end the radiator end). from the front of the machine and with the chain on top, pull with a machine or a truck. I'm thinking of trading in my 5 year old compact tractor on an older skid steer. Figured I'd look for something early to mid 2000s with no more then 2000 hours. Online the dealer had a Gehl 4840 with 1500 or so hours so I went in to have a look. That machine was sold. So, Manager showed me a 1997 Gehl 5635sx that's on the lot.
