I'm curious to know if anyone has experience with the new 2015/2016 ASV skid . Cat took an ASV undercarraige, grafted an oversized skid steer on to it, and the end result was very shortened life of tracks. A 257 B3 weighs over 8000 pounds, a pt 60 around 6400. I'm curious to know if anyone has experience with the new 2015/2016 ASV skid loaders or track loaders and which diesel you have. Perkins, Deutz or Cummins...seems like they use a few. Do the machines compare to top end machines?
The ASV's look like nice machines and supposedly are the smoothest ride, but I'm told that their undercarriages are their weakpoint. Was told that they use plastic parts in the track carriage assemblies and they cost ,000 to rebuild the undercarriages, blah blah blah. Looks like ASV makes the highest HP machine on the market, and I'm seeing some very low hour machines for around 30,000.00. I'd like to hear from you who have experience with the PT series, especially the PT 100. We have been demoing a Terex PT 60 track skid steer. I really like it's balance and power for the size it is. The operator station is plenty small. My two main complaints are that the engine needs to have the glow plugs cycled to start.even when in a 60 degree shop.
